distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen:

　　nice to see you! my name is su yu and i major in tobacco. it’s my honor to give you my speech and the title of my speech is long live ~

　　i remember when i was very small i was told that there was a man named lei feng, who was universally known for his kind and generous behavior of helping people and never asking for that time i was too young to thoroughly understand the concept of the spirit of lei feng until later, i saw more and knew more about loved and cared about people, and anyone else who needed help. i have read a lot of stories about how he helped an old man cross the street and how he volunteered to work in the railway station. lei nearly dedicated all his life to work. he worked hard not for money，but the good of all the people. so i think he deserves the glory of a hero.

　　nevertheless，in recent years a rumor arose from the public that the spirit of lei was out of date and should be deserted . i was quite amazed after hearing about it. they may had their reasons but, lei feng’s spirit has been a very important part of our spiritual life, so whatever the reason, i contemplate that it is nothing but their personal awareness that falls behind. just imagine how the society would be like without the existence of it. that might be a world of coldness and selfishness. you wouldn’t like it，neither would i . fortunately, a piece of news comforts me that there is still a little girl willing to share her umbrella with a beggar.

　　although lei has been away for about half a century，his spirit would never fade away with time, because it’s some kind of intangible treasure of us all. and we need it, our society needs it . lei has influenced several generations of us chinese and sincerely, i want to hand it down. nothing could be better than we put it into real life and make our society more harmonious. in memory of the forever hero , now let’s rise our hands and salute to him.
